Felts manufactured of synthetic materials such as polyester are bestsellers for a spectrum of industrial applications. These felts are named from the manufacturing process, in which thousands of needles compress the raw material into the finished product. Available in a wide range of weights and thicknesses, they are suitable for many of the same applications as more costly pressed wool felts. Wool/synthetic blended needle felts also are available for demanding applications.
